BROADMOOR TO HOST CENTENNIAL PARTY

The Broadmoor Neighborhood Association is hosting a party for the neighborhood April 20 to mark the 100th anniversary of Broadmoor’s founding.
“One of Shreveport’s most noted builders, Albert C. Steere, started this community in 1924,” said BNA President Bonita Crawford.
“What began as a small 20th Century suburb carved out of a pecan stand is now home to thousands of homeowners and renters plus numerous churches, schools, parks and businesses.
“Broadmoor is a stable and welcoming community and a vital part of Shreveport for 100 years now. That is worth celebrating.”
Crawford said BNA will host the community event at A. C. Steere Park. Plans call for music and speeches, food trucks, local businesses selling products and services, and other forms of celebration.
Crawford said volunteers are needed for various tasks. For more information contact Crawford at 318-423-5010 or bonniec222@aol.com.
